The chemical composition of almond oil
A high-quality product is obtained by cold pressing almond kernels and if everything was done in compliance with the requirements of the technological process, then it will contain the following supply of healthy ingredients:
- amygdalin glycoside;
- mineral substances, among which the most valuable are zinc, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus;
- vitamins B2, B6, E, A, F;
- substances of protein origin (lipids);
- about 70–80% (of the total volume) of oleic acid;
- 20–25% linoleic acid.
Each of these components plays an important role in improving the well-being of a person and the state of his body. So, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc normalize the natural processes in the hair follicles, thereby preventing their loss, lipids act as a building material for cells (regenerate fibers and thereby strengthen the hairs), vitamins A and E are responsible for the general strengthening and restoration of the structure of hairs by their entire surface.
Did you know? Due to the beneficial properties and attractive appearance of trees or shrubs of almonds, the United States annually celebrates the day of this plant - February 16. It was at this time that the trees were covered in color and adorned the streets and parks.

The use of oil in cosmetology
Most often, almond oil is used in cosmetology as a moisturizer that prevents the skin from drying out and peeling, especially in the cold season. Besides, with regular use of oily liquid, it can restore the softness of the roughened areas of the body (for example, elbows or heels), improve the shine of hair and increase the growth rate of nails. Of course, for each of these cases, there are methods and recipes for using almond oil, so you need to know what options to use to care for eyebrows and eyelashes.
For eyelash growth
To accelerate the growth of cilia and improve their overall appearance, you can prepare a composition based on almond, castor and burdock oil, mixing everything in equal proportions. After combining the individual ingredients, the mixture is heated in a water bath, slightly cooled, and then applied to eyelashes or eyebrows with any convenient brush. After surviving such a mask for 20 minutes, the non-absorbed residues of the mixture can be removed with a wet or dry cloth.
An alternative to creating a useful mixture for the active growth and strengthening of eyelashes will be an infusion of 15 ml of almond oil, 10 g of dried chamomile flowers, 10 g of dried lemon balm, 150 ml of hot water. All prepared ingredients should be poured into one container, pour boiling water and insist for half an hour. After the specified time, the liquid is filtered and almond oil is added to it. For application to eyelashes, a gauze swab dipped in infusion is used. (when putting on eyelashes, try to touch the superciliary arches). The compress mask should remain on eyes closed for half an hour, after which it remains only to rinse your face with clean water.
Did you know? The number and length of eyelashes largely depend on the heredity of the person. On average, about 250 hairs grow on the upper eyelid, but much less on the lower eyelid - about 100.
For eyebrow growth
Sometimes, to improve the growth of eyebrows, the same compositions are used as for eyelashes, however, you can achieve a good result by using other recipes of alternative medicine, developed specifically for this part of the face.
The easiest option is a pure almond oil compress, in which, after warming up, a folded bandage or gauze is dipped and already soaked is laid out on the eyebrows. The optimal exposure time is 10 minutes, after which you can either wipe the exposure area with a dry swab or wash with warm water. With the regular implementation of these actions (at least 2-3 times a week), you can improve hair growth and make eyebrows more thick.
For smoothness and shine, an ideal solution would be a mask of equal proportions of glycerin, almond and sea buckthorn oil, which, after thorough mixing, is applied to the eyebrows and left for 5-10 minutes. A positive result will be noticeable after the first application.
You can nourish the follicles and the hairs themselves with useful substances using a mixture of equal amounts of almond and olive oil (1 drop each), with the addition of five drops of fish oil, ten drops of vitamin E and four vitamin A. For the most positive result, the finished mixture should be applied to the eyebrows at least 2-3 times a week, and the remainder should be stored in a glass bottle in in a dark place.

Of course, the makeup is washed off first, and it is advisable to dry the eyelashes themselves a little.
With a finger dipped in almond oil, you can perform a gentle massage of the eyelids, paying attention to eyelashes. After completing this step, gently pat the remaining oil with a dry paper towel, and rinse off the rest in the morning (eyelash nutrition will last all night).
Important! When creating nutrient mixtures for eyelashes or eyebrows, do not experiment with unknown components.Carefully check the compatibility of each of them with the described almond oil.
Best specified product interacts with these oils:
- castor (softens and accelerates eyelash growth);
- burdock (heals weakened hairs);
- olive (strengthens eyelashes);
- grape seed (eliminates oily sheen from the surface of hairs);
- sprouted cereals (restores the damaged structure of each eyelash to the very tips).
It is possible that almond oil is used along with aloe juice, dried inflorescences of cornflower, calendula, chopped parsley, tea leaves, oatmeal.
